Google’s New Site Search

When searching the internet most users will start with a broad search term like “Lawyers.” When they receive their results they may quickly realize that they don’t need a lawyer. They need a specific type of lawyer and in a specific area. So their search is then done again but this time as “California personal injury lawyer.”

In the past you would only see whatever page is ranking for this term. Google eventually decided to implement what they call sitelinks. Sitelinks are links below the Websites title that are indented listings and if clicked will direct you to an internal page on the website (about page, products, services, etc.).

In the begging Google would add three indented listings(sitelinks) below a relevant link. Eventually this was expanded to display anywhere from 6 – 8 links. With the new update Google now displays sitelinks as full sized links that also contain a one line snippet. Check out my example below for the website BestAttorney.com.
