This weekend will be the last for Los Angeles red light cameras. According to a news report in CBS Local – Los Angeles, Officials from LA have decided to end their contract with the company and police officers will no longer make court appearances for red light camera violations.
The Councilman for Northridge, Porter Ranch and Granada Hills named Mitch Englander was quoted saying the following on an interview with KNX 1070.
“The fines were excessive, it was punitive, it was way too high,” Englander said.
Most fines for red light camera violations start at $480 but some would be more than $550 after other fee are applied.
